Premonition

Premonition or a foreboding feeling is a common experience. There are many reports from witnesses when it comes to strange occurrences in the woods or mysterious missing cases. People tell that they had a certain premonition about something bad which could happen. Some have even a sudden feeling of panic. According to many experiences we hear over time premonition save sometimes somebody’s life. Most prominent are the testimonies of people which avoided a certain journey or avoided to to a certain thing. They avoided to board the Titanic or didn’t get on an airplane which later crashed. Sometimes they miss a train purposely and later the train has an accident. Mountain climbers avoid a climb on a certain day because they have a bad feeling. It’s hard to tell if these accounts are really true or if they were only coincidences. The “Final Destination” franchise used that phenomenon as a central motive.

However, what is for sure that these kind of feelings or premonitions exist in a way. Sometimes you wake up the morning and there is that anxiety and that certain feeling something has happened or is about to happen. It may just be a feeling but sometimes there is a truth in it when we look back at that day or that certain morning later. We knew something was going on. It could be life changing events as a war starting or more personal things like some news about a relative arriving later the day.

Prophetic dreams

Premonition happens on many levels. There are also prophetic dreams and the well known phenomenon of precognition. These experiences are not so much about a feeling. They are more distinct. It is about events of the future. These events are presented either in a symbolic way or as images which tell what will happen. Premonition can be about something which will happen very soon, even in next moment. But it could be happen in a distant future too.

This is of course an even more well known thing. Premonition leads to prophecies. The people who had that premonition or which had “seen” something are called prophets. Religious scripture established that model in our culture. It is obvious that this phenomenon dates much further back in times. Premonitions are visionary experiences. Shamans saw what will happen in the future during their otherworldly journeys.

A very typical thing are prophetic dreams. Very often people think what they dream will happen in some way in the future. These future events are often seen in a distorted or metaphorical way.

It is notable that so-called alien abduction accounts or near death experiences are also full about visions about events in the future. They are modern counterparts of the shaman’s journey.

Apocalyptic Content

Very often there is an apocalyptic content portrayed in these premonitions. There is a long tradition from religious scripture too. The archetype of apocalypse is established in the book of revelation. There is often a lot of material in modern “accounts” which seems somehow similar or borrowed from the book of revelation.

Modern prophets as the visionaries from the alpine region, from the Bavarian Forest or south-east Europe predicted World War I and World War II. There are many visions about an apocalyptic Third World War including nuclear doomsday scenarios. They often mention certain signs occurring as harbingers of the apocalypse. Nature is changed as for example the forest should be damaged or society is falling apart. Some of these reports or their originators are questionable. Often there is no documentation when something was said in the first place. Or the premonitions are vague like a lot of the famous Nostradamus predictions. They could be interpreted in many ways.

Emanuel Swedenborg

But there are well documented cases too like the Swedenborg visions. Emanuel Swedenborg was a philosopher, mystic, theologian and scientist. He lived from 8 February 1688 til 29 March 1772. The well known fire anecdote is not exactly a premonition. It was something he saw before the inner eye whereas a fire broke out in Stockholm on 19 July 1759 far away from where he stayed. Swedenborg was about 400 km from Stockholm in Gothenburg. During dinner he suddenly became agitated and told friends there is a fire in Stockholm. During that time there was of course no TV or telephone. News travelled slow. It is one of the best documented cases. Swedenborg was also ahead of his time in many ways.

Swiss psychologist Jung had a premonition in 1914 shortly before the beginning of World War I when he dreamed about rivers of blood in Europe. In more modern times psychics reported visions about climate change and disasters.

Stories about strange events in dark forests are full of premonitions. And the forest seems to be a place which is more common for people to have strange foreboding feelings, visions about the future and premonitions. A famous prophet in the Bavarian Forest, the “Muehlhiasl” received his apocalyptic visions at a certain place in the forest, the “Rabenstein”.

Shamans are walking and disappearing in the woods for the days to get visions about the futures. It is hard to tell what the truth here is. Do some people have a certain gift, a talent or a certain sense which allows them to see into other dimensions or into the future? It seems that nearly everybody has an experience with ominous foreboding feelings or some sort of premonition. Perhaps this is a very healthy instinct. It is more alive deep in the woods or deep in the wilderness. It might be a survival instinct.

However what does that mean in the end of the day? If we can feel or foresee potential events in the future our common model of reality must be wrong in some way. Is it all about superstition? Not necessarily. If we look into models of a reality which consists of many dimensions time is not what we think. Think of the Fifth dimension in Interstellar. “Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see, one chance out between two worlds, fire walk with me!” (David Lynch, Twin Peaks).

The Memory Of The Forest

by Peter Engelmann,  June 25, 2021

The forest never forgets. The forest is like a storehouse of the past. Writers and filmmakers use the forest regularly as the place where the hero faces the past. Sometimes it’s the hero’s own past. Sometimes it is related to the location. Secrets and old legends get revealed in the darkness of the forest.

However the forest is more than a metaphor where someone gets confronted with his own past. In a very literal sense the forests of our Earth store information about the past. Scientists learn from old trees about historical events like climate change or the outbreak of a volcano. A tree’s annual rings are like a chronology of the past.

A forest is a place of constant change. During the summer the forest is full of life. In winter there is death. Nevertheless information never gets lost in the forest. The whole network of plant life saves information about the things which happened in the past.

There are not only traces of natural events like wildfires in the forest. In the forest sometimes things appear which had been buried for centuries. The relicts of battles of the past as the ancient battles of the Romans against the Barbarians in the German forest are still there. Archeologists visit the forest regularly.

Traces From The Past

Some say there is more to this. The ghosts of fallen soldiers of long forgotten battles still roaming the woods. In some nights the lonely souls of victims of crimes can be seen and heard. And of course there is the witch which was banned from the community hundreds of years ago. What if events and the traces of entities from the early days of Earth are also stored up here? Something which is still alive in a sense? The forest as a whole might be a storage medium for many things.

But people going into the forest and discovering their own past? That might work in a psychological sense if you are alone for a longer time memories might come up. What if you find something in the forest which is connected to your own past? Something which was lost and suddenly lies there in front of you. If this happens in a fictional story it sounds like the typical intervention of the writer.

It’s another story if the person has the same places visited before or has lived in a certain place. Then a trip into the forest can be an experience where memories which were suppressed for a long time come back. In these cases the forest might be sort a catalyst. Perhaps it works in the sense of synchronicity – something from the inner life gets materialised in the outside world.

Driftwood In The Forest

The forest is a place where things disappear and return. And here is the strange thing. Sometimes it’s like at a beach where the sea returns something which was swallowed for a long time. Now its flotsam. We know about incredibly strange missing 411 cases: Search and rescue diligently searching the same area several times and finding nothing. Then, sometimes many years later lost items or even a person resurfaces.

There might be even more to this if we think of the intermingling of dimensions or distorted timelines. We are used to think in linear timelines. Some experiences suggest that we could get into places where timelines are somehow distorted or different. Future and past is not what we think it is. Or lets say its something we should explore deeper.

Time

Of course there is a lot of speculation here. However it is interesting how many people which had a strange experience in the woods reports weird things about the perception of time too. Sometimes its missing time. Sometimes present and past intermingle. Memories can get lost or somebody remembers things and has no idea where that information did come from. If we remember the saying “the forest is what’s between the trees” it might open up many ideas. Maybe its some people who are wired to higher dimensions which have that kind of experience. They can connect to the subspace or alternate stream of reality. If there is sort of a subspace out there it might be something similar to our world wide web: a neural network where memories and information is stored.

The Forest And The Fabric Of The Universe

Is there something that the forest and the cosmos have in common? What if we could look at the hidden fabric of the organic structure and the connections in the endless cosmos filled with myriads of stars and galaxies? Are there similarities and is there a network that will challenge our idea of reality? Science-fiction series as Star Trek – Discovery even suggest a similarity between the network of fungi in the forest and hidden gateways in the Universe.

An important discovery in biology coined the term “wood wide web”. This refers to the so called Mycorrhizal networks. These are underground connections between plants and trees and allow the exchange of nutrients, water, carbon and even information. Fungi create this underground network which resembles in some way the world wide web.

The mycorrhizal network is a hyphal network. This is a branching filamentous structure. The hyphal network is created by fungi. It looks like a basic structure model or a concept with strong similarities as the branches of trees, the structure inside leaves, the neural web inside the brain or on a large scale the connections between clusters of galaxies in the universe.

However the Star Trek Discovery creators brought this concept to another level. Here it is not only a sort of similarity. What if there is kind of a sub-dimension with such a network which allows teleportation between far distances within the universe? It would have been interesting to see the faces of decision-makers when the series’ writers pitched the idea of the spore drive in the first place. The whole concept is even for the most open-minded sci-fi fans hard to buy.

The idea in Star Trek Discovery is indeed that there is similarly to the “wood wide web” a network of fungal spores throughout the universe called the “mycelium”. What’s so special about them is that they could also permeate “sub space”. A ship which could have some “interface” with this network could travel from space to subspace and back again to space. Ethan Siegel described the concept excellently in a recent Forbes article.

Five Dimensions and Dune as a precursor

Of course, there is strong criticism about this concept, but if you add a fourth spatial dimension it could work as Ethan Siegel emphasised. Actually you have to think of a five-dimensional-reality (including time). It is indeed true that modern spacetime concepts include more than four dimensions. The root-network with the mycelium might indeed sound a bit far-fetched however it is less absurd if we take the idea not too literal.

Most of all this is not a new idea. Instant space travel between far distant points in the universe without a “journey” is a basic concept of Dune. In Dune there is the so-called Holzman-effect, which is also responsible for this kind of space travel. Furthermore there is a connection between biology and technical space travel: In Dune the “Navigators” are enabling this kind of travel. In Star Trek Discovery its the creature (the space tardigrade) in the first place and later the scientist.

The Fifth dimension is also part of Interstellar (even a Fifth Dimension is not mentioned in Dune and Star Trek – Discovery).

Is there a real cosmic root network like the Mycorrhizal networks?

We don’t know. The fourth spatial dimension is a theoretical concept. We can’t enter this higher dimensions so far. We have no clue that any “highways” or “networks” actually exist. However it would explain a lot of phenomena like suddens disappearances. Could people accidentially “fall” into that fourth spatial dimension and get caught in the network? Wild speculation. But what we see is that there is a tendency of self-similarity in the structures of the universe. Tree branches resemble neuronal webs. Neuronal webs resemble clusters of galaxies.

Another important factor is the idea that there could be physical and biological entities which exist not only in our dimension but in that higher fourth spatial dimension. They could travel instantly from one place to another and create any kind of supernatural effect in our dimension. It only needs to have some interface or interdimensional gates. Maybe a creature itself could become an interdimensional gate.

It might be a good model to explain many cases of high-strangeness and anomalies on Earth as orbs, mountain lights, strange experiences of extra dimensions, maybe even visionary experiences.

Energy Vortexes And Triangles

Unexplained phenomena are very often associated with certain places and areas. Some areas have been labeled triangles. The most prominent historical triangle is the Bermuda triangle. Today, the Alaska triangle and the Bennington triangle are well known. Nearly any famous spiritual place is connected with an energy vortex. They are often supposed to be portals to another dimension. But what are they?

Paranormal sightseeing spots

A number of energy vortexes have become very popular tourist destinations. These places are mostly mountains and forests. Some of them have visitor centers and offer useful information and guidance, for example, the Montana Vortex. In the U.S. these places have been already spiritual places or even center of the spiritual world of the American Indians. Mount Shasta is an example.

Later, the esoteric movement discovered these areas, and they are often seen as healing places and places for inner development or spiritual insight. They have the same qualities as places of pilgrimage in Europe. Two prominent energy vortexes, Mount Shasta in Northern California and Sedona in Arizona, are huge territories with high mountains. However many attributes of the place are the same as of the Tor in Glastonbury or Stonehenge. Thus, the size of an area is not the most important element here.

Mostly, energy vortex places are seen more or less as a positive thing whereas triangles are sinister and scary areas. However there are also many missing person cases for example in the Mount Shasta area, a well-known vortex, and there are warnings about the portals at Sedona. It seems that any place of power has always a positive and a negative side. This dangerous side should not be underestimated.

There is another crucial information here. The indigenous people have a lot of knowledge about these places and do know about their nature. They might not speak about energy vortexes but of “powerful medicine”. Our modern interpretation of these places as energy vortexes might be a sign that we brought our own “technical gods” to these places. But during all times there had been people who understood what these places are.

Ambivalent places

David Paulides quotes the warnings in a letter of a Native American woman in a video of his CanamMissing Project Youtube Channel. The woman says that Mount Shasta is an incredibly dangerous place “thick with the spiritual world”. Visitors should not go beyond the treeline. David Paulides accomplishes what she says. It is a fact that the Cascade Mountains including Mount Shasta are a place of many mysterious vanishings

So, white people understand these places and areas in a “technical sense”. But, why vortexes? Has anybody seen vortexes of energy there, some sort of spiral, tunnel, wormhole? It seems more a kind of classification.

There are a couple of possible explanations: A vortex was indeed seen by witnesses in the Bermuda triangle. The Bermuda triangle is in a way the mother of all these zones of the paranormal. It is possible that the reports about the Bermuda triangle worked as a set-up. Then there are scientific investigations claiming vortexes are electromagnetic whirlwinds.  There is also a serious claim about gravitational anomalies. These anomalies actually exist: Gravitation is not exactly the same in different places on Earth. There is also physical evidence for anomalies. An interesting phenomenon is the unnatural growth of plants. Examples are found in the Montana vortex.

But there is another explanation: A vortex is a similar shape like a spiral which is a powerful archetype. We find these shapes in cathedrals, mazes, architecture, art, in nature, and in space. It’s something people know through all times. In a way, the vortex is also a symbol for the otherworld.

Fiction and science fiction helped to build an imaginary with wormholes and dimensional rifts.  The vortex has become a common element in culture.  This works both ways: Writers take inspiration by paranormal phenomena, folklore, and witness reports. Vice versa our perception and interpretation of our experience are influenced by what we read and see on TV.

Where are these vortexes and triangles?

There is no official list of vortexes and triangles. A lot of maps and lists of places appear on the web. It depends on the writer what he thinks what a vortex is. Famous triangles are the Bennington triangle in the Northeast of the U.S. and the Alaska triangle. Another area is the “The Devil’s Triangle or “The Devil’s Sea near Japan.

The most prominent energy vortexes are the Sedona Vortex, Mount Shasta, or the Montana Vortex. The Sedona vortexes are actually seen as a group of vortexes, which could be found at Cathedral Rock, Boynton Rock, and Bell rock. Other vortexes are Haleakala National Park in Hawaii, Taos in New Mexico, Crater Lake in Oregon, Ojai in California, Monument Valley in Arizona-Utah, and Mount Mitchell. Furthermore, most sacred sites are considered vortexes as the Great Pyramid in Egypt, Stonehenge, or Ayers Rock in Australia. Again: There is no official list or official definition about a vortex.

The most common understanding of a vortex is perhaps a sort of a „node“, a place on Earth where energy enters the planet or is emitted. But a crucial part is also the idea that it is a sort of door between different dimensions.

What does an energy vortex do to reality?

The most interesting aspect of an area with a vortex is the obvious ability to shift our common reality into a different kind of reality. All kinds of apparitions are reported. People are getting disorientated and getting lost. Others experience positive sensations. Some people have kind of a healing experience. Impossible things seem to happen. If we believe the many reports, which tell us about such experiences there is another question: Why is there no deeper impact in our normal world? Shouldn’t these experiences have changed the scientific world-view? The answer may be the nature of these zones: Our ordinary logic doesn’t have a place here. Normal explanations are not working. To understand the vortex we have to think differently.

Are there examples of reality shifts?

David Wilcock did tremendous research and mentions several examples on divinecosmos.com:

Surviving witnesses of accidents in the Bermuda triangles reported anomalies as a luminous haze on a clear day or failures of electromagnetic instruments or spinning compasses. An airplane crew experiences a loss of time and disappeared for 10 minutes from the radar. Some believe that many creatures or aliens, which occur in energy vortex areas are time-travelers.

There is another phenomenon, which is sometimes connected with the idea of energy vortexes: These are the strange cases of persons who shifted into another dimension. There is also the idea that an “energy body” can be created in another dimension. This idea is not new and appears already in Shamanic wisdom.

Then there are, of course, the missing411 cases, which include many strange circumstances. They are the best evidence we have that there are indeed phenomena, which aren’t understood by science so far.

We do know that there are a lot of things going on around us in the mountains, in the fields, in the forest. Areas of the unknown can be described as vortexes or triangles. What we don’t know is what is exactly the reason or explanation for many incidents and strange events. We have to decide on our own what we want to believe or not want to believe.

However, the idea of parallel worlds has become more and more accepted as a reality in the last years. Even we might not understand how this world of higher dimension works and why some people are traveling between realities we have a strong premise, which gives many witnesses reports credibility.

What’s really going on?

According to these reports, there are many cases where an alternate reality stepped into ours.  These cases include reality glitches as a person suddenly finds itself in a different place or bilocation. Brent Swancer mentions also a man who discovered himself in an old photo of the Grand Canyon at a time where we definitely weren’t there – sounds a bit like the last image of “The Shining” with Jack in the middle of the Black and White picture.

Typical cases include persons who find themselves in a place and have no idea how they got there (this is also typical for many missing411 cases). We hear often about places, which doesn’t really exist in our plane of reality: Typically a traveler stops at a rest stop, a restaurant or a house and later he cannot find that place again. Locals deny that these places exist. This is a good example of the possibility that another dimension overlaps sometimes with our plane of reality. What if you get lost in that interplay of layers of different planes of reality?

Another interesting question is if these events can occur anywhere why are there special places like vortexes or triangles? An answer might be that they are kind of hotspots. There are often clusters in certain areas, but strange things can happen anywhere.
