Dark Place, Holy Place

We do not need to remember Orpheus and other Greek legends to know that the gateways to the Otherworld can be dangerous.

There are endless stories about the famous special places, the cult sites, the ritual places and haunted places.

It seems that many places have a certain quality, which might be god or evil, positive or negative, making you lucky or sad. Generally I heard and read many stories that a place can transform you. That is why our investigation has to be careful.

Jacques Vallee, the researcher I admire, tells in “Confrontations” about a dark story he found in Dion Forturne’s writings about a medium, Netta Fornario, who died 1930 under bizarre circumstances. She was found naked on a mountain full of scratches close to the Scottish Island Iona. There were reports about blue lights on the island, which were seen not far away from the place where Fornario was found.

Fortune speculates if her friend Fornario was victim of a psychic attack or if she left her body for too long during an astral journey.

There are no further investigations reported about this case, however the two possibilities Fortune mentioned are often mentioned in connection with incidents at certain places. The third possibility is often a mystic experience, which leave the visitor changed. These places can become holy places like Glastonbury, which is for some the legendary Avalon.

David Lynch used the mythological duality of mysterious places in his unforgettable Twin Peaks Series. The magic place in the series “Glastonbury grove”, which is a circle of birch trees in the woods, is a gateway to the Otherworld. But it leads to two different lodges, the white lodge and the black lodge, where the finale of the series happens. This is a place where demons live.

Is everything only fiction?

Recently I found an interesting lead towards Bedford near Halifax in Canada, Nova Scotia. The real “Glastonbury Grove” is a holy place of the Micmac Indians  also with a circle of birch trees and with interesting petroglyph.

One of the petroglyph represents an eight-pointed star, which says something about the great mystery these Indians have knowledge about: in their mythology it s said that the Number Four is doubled to reflect the understanding that all that one sees is not necessarily all that is perceptible.

The Micmac tribe believed in a gateway to the Otherworld like the Celts and there are some more very interesting aspects about the Canadian Micmac: some of their alphabet is similar to ancient Egypt hieroglyph.

We should take their knowledge about places very serious. We do not know the truth about the endless number of legends but we might suspect that places could work as reality transformers for their visitors. They could do something with you, particularly with those who are seeking for transpersonal experience. If you open up too much to the raw unmediated energies of the Otherworld it might be the dark side, which takes advantage.

Somebody’s watching you!

I have been looking up in the sky for a very long time. Scientists tell us there are billions of worlds out there. A certain portion of stars are supposed to be surrounded by earth like planets or planets which may be habitable for some sort of life form.

Usually we think of these worlds in our own terms. We expect them to look similar and their inhabitants at least somehow humanoid.

There is no final proof that our assumptions about the universe are right. Our experts say maybe there is somebody out there but he will not come to visit us because the next habitable planet is too far away.

Is that so?  I am not the first one who has a certain feeling that somebody’s watching us.

We cannot set our technologies or our idea of live as a standard for the whole universe. Somebody’s watching over mankind for a very long time. They might not use a telescope or they might not need to visit us in some kind of space ship. They might be far away and very close to us at the same time.

They use peeping holes, where they can study us. They intervene from time to time. These peeping holes could be located at sacred sites or deep in the forest but maybe they can even use the clouds. A lot of mysterious things are going on during a big thunderstorm. We do not know really a lot about the skies above us. Why shouldn’t there be windows up there into another dimension – or vice versa – a window into our world?
One big question remains. If somebody is watching you there is usually an intention behind it. The watcher observes and often does something in the end. I mentioned my suspicions already in the creative infusion post. How far is our life under cosmic influence? Vice versa, aren’t we influence the development of the universe? If somebody is watching us there might be a reason for it. And our freedom could be an illusion. We can only hope for some noble intention. But if you could ask him WHY there might be also disappointment or shock.

I am asking myself if there is a chance to meet the watcher or at least feel the influence of forces who exhibit a hidden influence on our life?

Yes. It is particularly through working on The Forest Dark project I felt somehow this is happen in a larger context. Certain coincidences might not have been coincidences at all, remember what I said about the experience in Sweden.  With the continuing research for The Forest Dark Feature Film Project I came across some important revelations and I will keep you informed about further revelations. It is not easy to track down the presence of something which is so close and so hard to detect. But it is there and conducts a powerful influence over us. Famous UFO researcher Jacques Vallee once said that there might be something up there which does influence our belief systems. Maybe there is even a fight going on about the human soul and beliefs.

Sometimes somebody leads you down the road to a certain point and you don’t even sense that you were accompanied all the time.

Mysterious connections between places

Many legends tell us about strange connections between places which are normally far apart. In North-East Germany there is a famous lake: Stechlin. Divers come to this lake because of his crystal clear water. If you swim there you can see the lake’s bottom even if you are already in some distance from the shore. The lake is surrounded by huge nature reservation areas. Many tourists come every year to enjoy the lake. However the fishermen know about the dark side of this lake. Like  in Loch Ness there is a monster down there in the form of a giant red rooster. The most remarkable story however is that the lake responds to earthquakes or volcano eruptions far from northern Germany. Sometimes a fountain can be seen when something happens in the world. German Novelist Theodor Fontane wrote a famous novel also titled “Stechlin”, mentioning the old legends.

The legends about the lake are an interesting lead that different ideas of our reality are alive. The stories doesn’t make sense in our ordinary topography. However in the topography of the Otherworld there’re different connections between places or even between countries. From the point of view of the Otherworld a region in another continent or even on another planet might be straight in your neighbourhood.

People dream of places where they have never been. In the realm of dreams there are also different connections as in our ordinary reality.  Sometimes the reality of dreams seem to overlap with our everyday reality. When working on THE FOREST DARK movie script the idea that we might be need to draw unusual connections between regions occurs again and again.  The research sometimes lead to very strange relations in the matrix of our reality.

Summer Solstice

In The Forest Dark Movie project everything begins on Summer Solstice. The astronomical event with the longest day on Earth is celebrated with huge bonfires for a long time in the Northern countries on June, 21.  People believed that otherworldly forces were strong on such nights. The honorable H.P. Lovecraft suspected that The Great Old Ones were invoked during these special nights.

There are huge gatherings on mountain tops but also many rumors about secret rituals deep in the woods.

Are these really things of the past?
